Instruction Manual
Thank you for choosing instruments from Hossa International®. Our specialized medical instruments are manufactured for qualified personnel according to European standards. This manual will help you ensure the easy and correct use of the instrument and better product maintenance. Please read it before use.
Product Specifications:
This product is handmade or semi-mechanically produced from high-quality stainless steel intended for medical instruments. It is made according to ISO and CE standards.
Storage Instructions:
The product should be stored at a temperature of 5-30°C and a relative humidity of no more than 70%. Avoid sudden temperature changes and excessive exposure to sunlight.
First Use:
The product is delivered non-sterile. Before first use, remove it from the original packaging, take off any tip protectors, and check its technical condition. The new instrument is factory-lubricated. You must then sterilize it according to the instructions in the “Inspection and Maintenance” section.
Inspection and Maintenance:
1. Technical Condition Check
Before each use, perform a technical inspection to ensure the instrument’s proper appearance and function. The instrument must be free from cracks, delamination, or contaminated surfaces. The product’s lifespan is affected by the number of cleaning and sterilization cycles, as well as normal wear and tear.
2. Pre-cleaning
Remove any contamination, such as residual biological material, using disposable hygienic cloths, paper towels, or brushes with synthetic bristles.
3. Hand Washing
Pre-cleaned instruments should be rinsed manually with demineralized water. Pay particular attention to products with long, thin tips, holes, recesses, and clasps. For premium instruments made of German stainless steel with a certified German tungsten carbide insert, or titanium instruments, ultrasonic cleaning is recommended.
4. Disinfection
Washing in a disinfector: The suggested method is ultrasonic cleaning using a disinfector. The suggested temperature is 93°C for about 10 minutes, but you should follow the manufacturer’s parameters.
Bathing in a disinfectant: Follow the disinfectant manufacturer’s recommendations on the packaging.
Caution: Leaving instruments in disinfectant or water for many hours can lead to discoloration and corrosion. Always follow the manufacturer’s recommendations.
5. Drying:
Thoroughly dry disinfected instruments, paying special attention to hard-to-reach areas like joints or hinges.
6. Preparation for Sterilization
Lubricate instruments with latches or locks (e.g., scissors, forceps) with specialized instrument oil at the joint.
If steam sterilizing, use an authorized water-soluble lubricant.
Do not use any industrial oils.
Instruments should be packed individually or as sets in a suitable disposable paper/sleeve.
Heavy instruments should be at the bottom and light ones at the top.
Premium instruments made of German stainless steel with a certified German tungsten carbide insert, or titanium instruments, should be sterilized separately.
Instruments are sterilized in the open position.
Warning: Sterilizing in a closed or tensioned position may damage the instrument.
7. Sterilization
The product must be sterilized according to applicable standards. The suggested method is steam sterilization under positive pressure.
Method I: 121°C at 1 atm overpressure for at least 15 minutes.
Method II: 134°C at 2 atm overpressure for at least 10 minutes.
