The Lucas bone curette with an ergonomic handle is used to remove granulation tissue from the tooth socket, to peel out inflammatory changes, as well as to remove broken parts of the tooth and the interradicular septum. The alveolar curette is also adapted to revise the tooth socket, scrape bone protrusions, smooth out sharp bone edges resulting from tooth extraction, and to extract pathologically changed tissues, e.g. sequestrum, granuloma, cyst.
